How to sort YouTube Shorts by views
A channel's Shorts tab has three chips: Latest, Popular and Oldest. Popular gets you close to most viewed. For the view counts in order, a measure of what broke out, or a list you can keep, sort the tab yourself.
What the three chips do
- Latest shows the newest Shorts first. It is the default.
- Popular shows the Shorts YouTube considers the channel's most popular. It does not say exactly what it ranks by, and the grid gives you no numbered order.
- Oldest puts the channel's first Shorts at the top.
Every tile shows a rounded view count, like 1.2M. On a channel with hundreds of Shorts you still end up scrolling and comparing numbers by eye.
Sort a channel's Shorts by views
- Add Sortflare to Chrome.
- Open the channel's Shorts tab on youtube.com, the page that ends in /shorts.
- Press Alt+S, choose how many Shorts to cover, and sort by Views.
You get a ranked list with each Short's title, view count and link. The counts are the ones YouTube prints on the tiles, so they are rounded the same way. Covering a whole channel is a Pro feature; on the free plan, signing in gives you one scan a day at Pro depth.
Views or outlier score
Views tell you a channel's biggest Shorts. They do not tell you which ones did unusually well for that channel, and on a big channel the top of the list is mostly old hits. Sort by outlier score instead: each Short's views divided by the median of the channel's recent ones. A Short at 8× on a channel that usually gets 20,000 views is worth studying. What the Shorts tab does not give you
YouTube prints no date and no like count on Shorts tiles, so Sortflare cannot sort the Shorts tab by date or likes. Use the Latest and Oldest chips for date. The Videos tab and search results do show how long ago each video went up, so there you can sort by date as well.
Keep the list
Export the sorted Shorts to Google Sheets, Excel, CSV or JSON, with title, link and views for each one, to track a channel over time or compare several. The export guide shows the columns. Sortflare does not download or transcribe YouTube videos.

Can you sort YouTube Shorts by most viewed?

Can I sort YouTube Shorts by date?
Use the Latest and Oldest chips on the Shorts tab. YouTube does not put dates on Shorts tiles, so Sortflare cannot sort that tab by date.
